I think I'm back! I hope to have you updated in the next little while on all our goings-on!
Alaura gets her tonsils out tomorrow, so keep her in your prayers! I will write more tomorrow!
Love to all!

We never went on our shopping excursion last weekend. Not in the mood. So we are going this weekend. But now the list is bigger! Ha!
Chris went to a job fair today for a company that is located near Dugway. They will be doing a mass hiring... in June. Lovely. So he went ahead and put in his resume. He will have a job by then, but if it's something he's not happy with and this other company wants him, that would be okay.
Alaura is off school til April. Spring break. Did we ever get a week and a half for spring break? We were lucky to get a 3 or 4 day weekend! We are planning to do a small cute Easter basket, complete with The Princess and the Frog movie. Fun!

Not much to say...
Things haven't changed. At all. Which really sucks because Week #3 is over and still Chris hasn't gotten a single reply on any of the jobs he has applied for. Ugh. It's so frustrating. Good thing: He was paid out all his vacation time he had at his old company. Which was three weeks. So this upcoming week will be the first week he officially has nothing coming in. I hope that unemployment gives us enough to get by.
Tomorrow is money spend day, which doesn't make things easier. Time to buy diapers and do the Costco trip. Which is always no less than $100. Don't get me wrong, it's not like we are destitute or anything! Not by a long shot. But it's hard to spend money when you know it's not coming in.
We did refinance our house this week. The house payment will go up about $120 more. But it's a lower interest rate and a 15yr loan! I know it's bad to make a house payment BIGGER right now, but it's not like Chris will be out of work forever! It's going to be so worth it. Plus, we don't have to make a payment for April! That will help a ton!
Well, keep crossing your fingers for us!

Staying Positive

Chris hasn't heard back from the jobs he has applied for yet, but he is moving forward with things. He is going to a workshop tomorrow for government applications... I'm not quite sure what it all entails, but I think it will be a good move. He is all set up for unemployment, so we should see things moving in the next couple of weeks. We have all ready started tightening the belts, so to speak. I even read all the grocery ads this past week so I could get the biggest bang for my buck! I got some seriously sweet deals and thought, I should have been doing this sooner!
We did go to Alice In Wonderland. It was fabulous! I can't wait to see it again.
The kids are great. Alaura gets to make a "silly sandwich" for school on Wednesday. Her dad wants to send her to school with a sandwich made with toasted Cylon bread. Oh yeah, he has a Battlestar Galactica toaster that toasts a Cylon into the bread. Or it can do "Frak Off." I don't think we can send her to school with that one though! Oh and Lilian is attempting to say "Bless You" when we sneeze. She's so stinkin' cute!

An Interesting Week

I knew I'd be terrible at updating my blog!

We had a very full week last week. Many ups and downs. I have never been so emotional.

First the ups. Alaura turned 5! We took her to get her ears pierced to celebrate, and she is very proud! She picked purple, because it's her birthstone. She looks very grown up. We also got her pictures taken, which turned out gorgeous (I will post soon). She had a birthday party and Mom decided to get creative (BRAVE) and made her giant cupcake cakes! She was spoiled rotten of course!

Now the downs. Really there is only one, but it's a big one. Chris lost his job. The government contract that he works on was not renewed, and with no warning on Thursday he was sent packing. We have survived week one. He has applied for 3 jobs all ready, and has registered with Workforce Services for unemployment. It is a scary thing, realizing that he isn't working. I guess on the plus side he'll have some major bonding time with our girls. Cross your fingers and pray for us. I hope it will work out soon.

About Our Girls.

I never knew real love, happiness or fear until I became a mother! And I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Alaura Clarice, our first born, arrived in February 2005. It seemed that Chris and I just decided one day that, hey, maybe we should start a family and *boom* I was pregnant. We had a lot of fun preparing for Alaura's arrival. I had three baby showers! Totally spoiled! Lots of people have asked, how did you come up with her name? Alaura is a combination of Aurora (from Sleeping Beauty) and Laura (my best friend from childhood. Laura died of leukemia when we were 14 years old. I keep her memory alive in Alaura.) Clarice is after my grandmother (my dad's mother). Alaura is gorgeous, energetic and smart. She spoke before she ever walked! Her personality is a lot like her mom, but she has a stubborn streak that is more like her dad! She can be a drama queen at times, but she is full of life and happy. She is in her second year of preschool right now, and loves school.

Lilian Faye is our baby. She was due on Halloween 2008, but I had complications that led to me scheduling her birth a few days before her due date. I had placenta previa, and had discovered this at about my 11th week. The doctor had told me then, no strenuous activities, no lifting... he didn't even want me coughing! Which actually really scared me because I ended up with bronchitis at about 20 weeks or so. He didn't want me to go into labor on my own, if I could help it. Everything turned out fine. More than fine! Although Lilian is a tiny girl (she's about 10% on her height and weight for her age), she's my adventurous little spitfire and the happiest girl you have ever seen. She has the most beautiful blue eyes, and the longest eyelashes in the world! She is sweet and funny, and there is no stopping her when she sets her mind to something. Oh, since I explained Alaura's name... I had searched for awhile for older gothic or Victorian names, because of her Halloween due date. One day, while at work, my friends and I were kicking around names. A discussion started about characters from old scary movies or tv shows. We giggled at the thought of some of the names. I had said "how about Morticia from the Addams Family?" And my dear friend Vicki said, "or Lily Munster?" We all glanced at each other and all yelled together "Lilian!" And it stuck. Her dad didn't like it at first, but it grew on him. My friend Suzanne had thought Lilian's name had come from a Depeche Mode song "Lilian," which it didn't... but the spelling of her name did! Her middle name of Faye is after Chris' grandmother (his dad's mother).

Our girls are really Daddy's girls! But when they are sick, hurt or sad they want Mommy. Their bond is truly something special. I love that they are all ready the best of friends, and I can tell that Alaura will be Lilian's protector.
